IronyChess Checkmate: Mollom Blocked by School Firewall
This is killing me. Like, veins popping in my head killing me.
So, got a call from a user today -- an elementary school principal trying to get into a site we're launching this month -- MyKidsturn.com. He's having problems logging in to the site, and rather that give up, he actually called the office.
First of all, thank the gods of open source for users willing to pick up a phone.
As it turns out, he was on the "Create Account" page, and everything was working the way it should, except he couldn't see the Captcha image provided my Mollom. All he saw was empty space.
I'm baffled. The very service I'm using to keep the site safe for a school audience is blocked by the school firewall. It's like letting contractors install a sprinkler system to protect the building against fires, but not allowing water in the pipes because they might rust. It's ridiculous.
For the time being, I'm using a couple of other highly recommended modules to try to protect the site: AntiSpam and BadBehavior. And grinding my teeth in my sleep. And while I'm awake.
So, yeah. IronChess Checkmate.

Would require a little bit of coding tweaks, but feel free to adapt my PuzzCAPTCHA to what you need for MyKidsturn.com, if you want:

It's a Wordpress plugin, in just a couple of php files, not that many lines of code. The technology behind it is patent pending so I would ask that you not re-distribute it, but you can use it for that site, if you like it. It's relatively simple in how it works so recoding it shouldn't be that difficult.
I am not anonymous :P

Gotta love when everything is

Man, just once I'd like for everything to work right . . . .
